After a long-fought battle by local residents the local wildlife corridor at Woronora Heights has been saved from clearing and development. On 27th June 2025 the NSW Government announced that the 32ha site has been transferred to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.  It will now be given the future protection that this valuable wildlife corridor site needs for the protection of our endangered wildlife including Koalas, Powerful Owls and Pygmy Possums.
